Portland: Neighbors Welcome

Portland: Neighbors Welcome is a housing advocacy organization working to re-legalize community-scale apartment buildings in the Inner Eastside. Their presentation will make the case for why this would be a natural step in the city's evolution, benefiting economic growth, housing affordability, city budgets, social integration, climate action, clean air, and the protection of forests, farms, and natural resources. It will also touch on the recent history of the Bureau of Planning and Sustainability's Inner Eastside Zoning Project, which will (hopefully!) accomplish that re-legalization.
