Meara McLaughlin will discuss Portland’s independent music ecosystem as an economic and cultural imperative for the city.  Armed with never before available information gathered in the State’s first Commercial Music Census and Economic Impact Study, Meara will lay out a vision for Portland that is about growth, identity, and quality of life.  Our internationally respected independent music culture is, arguably, the city asset that has more potential to heal our bruised reputation, revive local business districts and tourism, and re-connect our residents in positive ways.
