Steven Szigethy is a capital project manager and supervisor in PBOT’s Capital Delivery Division, and has worked at the bureau for six years. Besides leading one of PBOT’s project delivery teams, Steve manages a portfolio of his own projects including the reconstruction of SW Capitol Highway to include sidewalks and bike lanes, and building new streets in South Waterfront and the former US Post Office site in NW Portland. Steve also has led many projects through planning, project development and design in East Portland, authoring the “East Portland in Motion” implementation strategy in 2011, and initiating design of the East Portland Access to Employment and Education project in 2016.
Steve’s team members are delivering transformative projects in East Portland including the Outer Division Multimodal Safety Project and the East Glisan Street Update. Prior to working at PBOT, Steve worked at the Washington County Department of Land Use and Transportation, Prosper Portland (then the Portland Development Commission), and private consultant firms in Pennsylvania. Steve earned a Masters in Urban and Regional Planning from Portland State University in 2008, and a Bachelors in Geography from Indiana University in 2001. Steve lives with his wife and daughter in southeast Portland.
Leeor Schweitzer will share statistical results on the projects completed and those in the works. As a research analyst at Trillium Systems, Inc., Leeor applies his planning knowledge and research skills to offer background information and diversified perspectives on Trillium’s special projects.He is committed to advancing the interests of targeted and marginalized communities by equitably promoting active transportation. He is a communicator, teacher, facilitator, and researcher in diverse cultural and international settings. He earned a Masters degree in City/Urban Community and Regional Planning at Portland State University and a Bachelor of Arts and Political Science International and Area Studies at Kalamazoo College in Michigan.
