EPCC Ed Series, Wisdom & Warnings: What We've Learned from Two Years Inside the AI Transition (June 03, 2026)

EPCC is excited to continue our Education Series on first Wednesdays in the afternoons. Join us each month for a different educational workshop designed to support small business owners and managers.

For June's meeting, we will hear from Jason Haggart CEO and Patrick Mullen CFO / COO - Gravitas Design Lab

Most of what's being said about AI right now is being said to the wrong people, by the wrong people, for the wrong reasons. The owners we know are anxious, overwhelmed, and underserved — drowning in AI talk and starved for an honest signal. We think they deserve better. Here's what we're seeing in the companies doing this well, what we're seeing in the companies that think they are, and where we'd start if we were starting today.

In June, we will meet at the Flipside Bar & Carts in the Lents neighborhood. Plus! We're moving this lunch to 1 pm so that we can go volunteer at Leach Botanical Gardens after.

Leach Botanical Gardens - Back 5 clean up (June 05, 2026)

Help a non-profit chamber member grow into summer on the afternoon of Friday, June 5, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Because of budget constraints, Leach Botanical Garden would appreciate our help in their ‘Back 5’ habitat restoration area. This area has been undergoing a transformation over the past six years and serves as an outdoor eco-lab for many students.

We will focus on removing non-native plants in an area with rustic trails and sloped terrain. Wear clothes that can get dirty. Bring your own garden gloves if you have them, otherwise the Garden will provide them. The Garden will provide all necessary tools. A hat, and sunscreen are also recommended. The chamber will have water on hand.

The garden is located at 6704 SE 122nd Ave, in Portland, one block south of Foster Road.

GEAC: D1 City Councilors (June 10, 2026)

On Second Wednesdays, our Government and Economic Affairs Committee (GEAC) hosts the meeting and brings important presentations to the table. We'd also like to extend a thank you to Morningstar at Laurelhurst for allowing us to use their meeting room each month!

For this meeting, we have invited our 3 City Councilors from District 1 to hear about their successes and challenges since taking office last year. Plus - bring your questions because we will reserve time for Q&A.

Environmental Overlay Project (June 17, 2026)

At this meeting, we are grateful to welcome Corky Collier, Executive Director of the Columbia Corridor Association to fill us in about the Columbia Corridor Industrial Lands (CCIL) Environmental Overlay Project. Also called the Columbia-Industrial Ezone Project, this project will adjust the location of environmental overlay zones in the Columbia Corridor and other industrial areas to match the locations of streams, wetlands, sloughs, vegetation and wildlife habitat. At this meeting, we will welcome representatives of City of Portland's Bureau of Planning and Sustainability to speak to us about the Commercial Waste System Review. Join us to learn the how, the why, and the what!

Portland’s commercial waste collection system—serving apartments, businesses, construction, and demolition—produces most of the city’s waste. This project will review the system to ensure it provides high-quality, affordable service and advances climate, equity, and service goals.
